Laureate Alpha Omicron learn about pies

Laureate Alpha Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Gene Evans with Loretta Johnson presiding.
Marcy Turk and Tootsie Cisneros served as co-hostesses.
Betty Mercer presented the program on "Pies - Coast to Coast." She traced the history of pie making from ancient times through today. Some statistics showed pumpkin pie is the second most popular pie; Key lime is the state pie of Florida; Michigan promotes its cherry pie. She also mentioned the classic quote - "as American as apple pie."
Committee reports were given.
A "not a St. Patrick's Day Party" for couples is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 24 in the Evans' home.
City Council President Frances Smith stated that Founders Day will be observed at 6:30 p.m April 26 at Golden Corral.
Joann Locher invited members to the Locher birthday party at noon April 28 at her home.
Election of officers will be held at the next meeting on Tuesday, March 20, at the Locher home.
