Editor, the Advocate:
Pit bulls may have software missing.
Over the years, I have known many people who have owned pit bulls. The one thing they all have in common are stories like the one on the front page Wednesday. These dogs seem to think anything and anyone outside their daily life is somehow an intrusion. And to Julia Garcia:
Have you thought how lucky you are that your dog attacked an adult and not a child who might have not had the wherewithal to climb up on a car to get away? Could you live with that? Or the fact that you live in a county where the district attorney refuses to prosecute offenders like yourself.
Laws are already on the books that demand that anyone who owns any animal, pet or livestock, be in control of that animal at all times.
Why do you think all those cows, goats, or whatever, have tags on their ears. It's not a fashion statement. It is so that animal control, the police or sheriff's department can identify the owners. If the escaped animals cause property damage or cause a wreck, for instance, the owners can be fined and held responsible for any and all damages.
I personally think that anyone who owns a pit bull, should have to register it as a lethal weapon. You got off light, Ms. G.
