Generals sign four players from A&M-CC

The Victoria Generals have had at least one player from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on their roster for the past three Texas Collegiate League seasons.

The Generals will have four Islanders on the tem this season.

Generals general manager Blake Koch announced on Wednesday that outfielder Eric Weiss and right-handed pitchers Tanner Green, Bryce Zak and Tyler Schnuriger will join the team for the 2012 season.

Weiss, a junior who graduated from Cypress Creek, transferred to A&M-Corpus Christi from Tyler Junior College and currently leads the team in hits (23), doubles (6), RBIs (13) and walks (12).

Green, a sophomore from Georgetown, has made nine appearances this season and has a 1-0 record.

Zak, a redshirt freshman from San Angelo, has appeared in four games this season.

Schnuriger, a freshman from San Antonio MacArthur, is recovering from back surgery that has kept him out this season.

The Generals home opener is Sunday, June 3 at 7:05 p.m. at Riverside Stadium against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
