The Victoria College Sports Club hosted its annual high school area all-star basketball games Wednesday.

The 2011-2012 Dance Team All-Stars were: Edna's Haley Hereld, Lori Nidey, Kandace McNeely and Elyse Mahaffey, Ganado's Shelby Luera and Cassidi Waters, Calhoun's Yahaira Martinez, Kaitlynn Rice, Julia Rivera, Justine Herrera and Audri Cantu and Victoria West's Stephanie Mullins.

"The girls had a fantastic time," Dance Team Director Joey Gregory said. "Not only did the Treasures have an opportunity to recruit for next year's team, but our All-Stars were able to experience being on a college dance team.

"Regardless of where they decide to go to college, I hope it inspired them to want to continue their love of dance after high school."

Treasures members who participated last night were Alayna Belcik, Michelle Carter, Kasey Gonzales, Kierstyn Williams and Mariah Sanchez.

The Treasures dance team is gearing up for tryouts for the 2012-13 academic year. Students interested in trying out for the team should contact director Joey Gregory at 361-571-2302.
