A Victoria man was injured Friday in a rollover wreck near the intersection of Ben Wilson Street and Sam Houston Drive.
Angelica Bernardino, 32, of Victoria, was stopped at the traffic light in a black four-door car at the intersection when she saw a gray Jeep Laredo rapidly approaching from behind about 1:55 p.m.
"He looked to be going about 70 mph," Bernardino said. "He swerved to keep from hitting me."
The vehicle, driven by George Anderson, 66, of Victoria, continued past Bernardino and through the intersection. The vehicle then struck a traffic light pole and flipped three times. It landed facing south and wedged in the bottom of the Kid's Print Shop sign on the northwest corner of the intersection.
"I'm five months pregnant," Bernardino said. "Thank God he didn't hit my car. I hope he's all right."
The wreck was under investigation Friday afternoon, said patrol officer Isaac Ramirez.
"At this time we do not know if the driver was distracted, or if there was some sort of mechanical issue with his car," Ramirez said.
Anderson was transported to Citizens Medical Center, where a hospital spokeswoman said he was in stable condition.
