Students going to the Victoria Boys & Girls Club after-school program, must first complete their homework before going to the gym. Several kids color a butterfly, while relaxing on the floor to draw a collective piece.

When the school bell tolls for the last time, summer means fun for kids at the Victoria Boys & Girls Club.

In years past between 50 and 60 kids have taken advantage of the variety of summer programs at the club.

"Kids are broken up in groups by age. There are a wide variety of activities to choose from," said Marc Vendl, executive director of the club.

Activities include arts and crafts, dodge ball, baseball, soccer, swimming and other sports programs.

The Boys & Girls Club summer program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays from June 4 through Aug. 17.

Breakfast and lunch are provided. See the Summer Fun Zone for more details on this and other summer opportunities in the Crossroads.
