St. Mary's Altar Society hosts luncheon

St. Mary's Altar Society met May 14 at 11:30 a.m. for their May meeting and the annual luncheon, at 236 Foster Field Drive.

President Al Bomba welcomed special guests, Alanzo Gonzales, the new seminarian, and Rev. Anthony Mensah. Members John and Anita Palladeno were celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary. Seventy members were present. Bomba led the prayer and lunch was enjoyed by all.

Frieda Stubbs reported that the Games Party in April was a big success. Stubbs read a card from Pam Fanelli thanking the society for the beautiful hand-made quilt she won.

Shirley Kloesel, out-going president, was presented the past president's plaque by Bomba. She thanked all for their cooperation during her term.

The Rev. Anthony Mensah will be celebrating his 25th anniversary to the priesthood Sunday, May 20, with a 3 p.m. Mass. The society will be serving as hosts for the reception after Mass. All are invited to come.

The next scheduled meeting is Sept. 10. New members are welcome.
