Two people were injured in a four-car wreck on Ben Jordan Street at Colorado Street at 7 p.m. Friday.
The driver of a vehicle was attempting to make a left turn from North Ben Jordan Street onto Colorado Street, when a silver Kia Olympia, driven at a high rate of speed by a 16-year-old boy rear-ended a blue and grey Chevrolet pickup truck, pushing it into the first vehicle, said Officer Sean Sheehan. The first vehicle then hit a red sedan stopped on Colorado Street. The driver of the red car was waiting to turn onto North Ben Jordan Street.
The first car left the wreck scene before police arrived.
The 16-year-old and a passenger from the pickup were taken to Citizens Medical Center.
North Ben Jordan Street was closed at the Colorado Street intersection, and traffic was diverted while the investigation of the wreck continued.
