Salute: Air Force grad receives commission

Christine Boswell, of Abilene, was sworn in and received her Air Force commission May 11 in a ceremony at Angelo State University in San Angelo. She holds the rank of second lieutenant and will be trained as a finance officer.

She served with honor in both her high school JROTC and college ROTC programs where she received numerous awards and citations. Boswell was awarded a bachelor of business administration degree from Angelo State University on May 12 where she majored in international business.

She is a 2007 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene and is the daughter of Charles Boswell, of Victoria, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Taff, of Abilene.

Navy Seaman Apprentice August J. Moss was recently promoted upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Moss received the early promotion for outstanding performance during all phases of the training cycle.

Moss is the son of John D. Moss, of Victoria.

Navy Seaman Gabrielle L. Luetge recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Luetge is a 2009 graduate of Sealy High School in Sealy. She is the daughter of Kim R. Schmidt, of Sealy, and Gary K. Luetge Sr., of Bay City.

Marine Corps Pvt. Rose E. Scipioni recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Scipioni is the daughter of Patti L. Villarreal, of Edna, and Mark P. Scipioni, of Hutto.
