A Victoria woman is facing charges she injured and unlawfully restrained her husband.

Deputies from the Victoria County Sheriff's Office were called Friday by neighbors to check on the well-being of a 91-year-old man in a home in the 1500 block of Bottom Road, said Chief Deputy Terry Simons.

On May 7, deputies investigating the complaints found the man had been left locked in the house and restrained by his 52-year-old wife, Simons said.

Because of his frail health, the man was taken into protective custody.

Mary Ann Baca, of Victoria, was arrested by deputies Friday on a warrant charging her with injury to an elderly or disabled individual with intent of bodily injury and unlawful restraint.

Baca remained Tuesday in the Victoria County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
