Trends: Steers and heifers, steady.

Steers: (200-300) $200-$260; (300-400) $168-$240; (400-500) $146-$189; (500-600) $134-$171; (600-700) $106-$150; and (700-800) $85-$134.

Heifers: (200-300) $181-$225; (300-400) $149-$184; (400-500) $150-$170; (500-600) $132-$170; (600-700) $130-$144; and (700-800) $86-$109.

Slaughter cows: $40-$88; slaughter bulls, $75-$108.50; stocker cows, $67-$89; bred cows, $900-$1,100; pairs, $740-$1,250; horses, $50-$200.

CUERO

Receipts: 820

Had 90 cows and 15 bulls. The cow and bull market was steady with last week's market. Fat cows were a little lower. Calves were heavier, and as a result, over $30/head higher in value. Overall the calf market was a little stronger building on last week's higher market.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $97-$113; lower grades, $85-$96.

Packer cows: Boning cows, $75-$98; cutters, $70-$89; low yielding cutters, $61-$76; canners, $50-$75.

Dry cows: $60-$90; young: $65-$115; pairs: $1,160-$1,240 (only 2 pairs).

The calf market was very active but lower.

Steer calves: (200-250) none; (250-300) $172 (just one); (300-350) $184-$225;(350-400) $200-$220; (400-450) $183-$195;(450-500) $174-$191; (500-600) $157-$181; (600-700) $143-$162; (700-800) $135-$148.

Compared to last week: The calf market was higher again this week. Most classes were $2 to $3 higher with very good demand in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold steady to $1 higher on about 150 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $82-$98; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $70-$82; light weight canner cows, $58-$70.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $103-$113; utility and cutter bulls, $90-$103; light weight canner bulls, $78-$90.
