The Victoria Generals have added three familiar faces to their roster for Friday's Texas Collegiate League opener.
St. Joseph graduates Kevin Daniels and Hayden Vesely and Shiner St. Paul graduate Blue Hybner will be in uniform when the Generals open the season Friday night at The Woodlands.
Daniels hit .336 with one triple, six doubles, 20 RBIs during his sophomore season at Blinn College. Daniels also stole 16 bases and was named to the Region XIV South All-Conference team.
Vesely was a teammate of Daniels at Blinn. Vesely played multiple positions during his freshman season. He hit .267 one home run, six doubles and 19 RBIs, while stealing five bases.
Hybner completed his freshman season as a catcher at Hill College. He hit .231 with one home run, one double and five RBIs.
"We're very fortunate to have such a hotbed of baseball talent right here in our backyard to choose from," said Generals general manager Blake Koch in a news release. "Kevin, Hayden, and Blue are quality players from the area that will fit in well with the pieces we already have in place."
The Generals will hold their only preseason practice on Thursday before playing The Woodlands on Friday and traveling to Lafayette, La., to play the Acadiana Cane Cutters on Saturday.
