A Victoria teen is under investigation for drunken driving after a two-vehicle wreck Halloween night, said Sgt. Eline Moya, of the Victoria Police Department.

Devin Danielle Gorfido, 18, of Victoria, ran a red light Wednesday night at the intersection of Red River and North Navarro streets and struck a Ford Mustang traveling west on Red River, according to the police report.

Moya said it is unclear whether Gorfido took a breath test or gave a blood sample to officers at the scene.

No one has been arrested in connection to the wreck, Moya said.

Gorfido was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro that night and has since been released.

During the collision, the driver of the Mustang, Emma Merklinger, 48, of Victoria, hit a control box, knocking out the traffic lights for several hours at the intersection.

Gorfido had two passengers in her Hyundai Sonata but was the only person taken to the hospital.
