An Edna woman arrested Friday for evading Jackson County deputies in her car for about 20 minutes was identified Sunday.

Latasha Norman, 31, is accused of beginning the chase in Edna at 8:18 p.m. and continued driving until 8:39 p.m. when she crashed into a small parking lot in Markham, Jackson County Sheriff Andy Louderback said.

Texas Department of Public Safety, Ganado Police Department and Matagorda County Police aided Jackson deputies in the pursuit of Norman's 1999 Buick Park Avenue, which was estimated to be driving at speeds in excess 100 mph.

She was arrested and charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance less than one gram and possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Norman was bailed out of Jackson County jail Saturday, Louderback said.
