A poem on women doing same work as men

Nov. 5, 2012 at 5:05 a.m.

Editor, the Advocate:

I think that it's time once again

for me to pick up my pen

and write on the circumstances

that gave us women our chances

to do the same work as men.

I tried all during my life

to be something besides a wife.

Whether or not I need it,

I'm happy that I succeeded,

to keep from suffering strife.

P.S. - My age is 931/2. I typed this poem on the typewriter I received as my graduation present when I graduated from high school at age 16.
