Victoria's Cimarron food stores will soon be under new ownership.
Jayen Inc., New Distributing's retail sector, will purchase the three locations, said Mike Ross, general manager of Fastop Food Stores. Fastop operates under Jayen Inc.
The deal should be finalized by the end of the month.
Affected stores include Cimarron Junction at 7104 N. Navarro St., Cimarron Express at 1402 N. John Stockbauer Drive and Cimarron Crossing at 13515 U.S. Highway 87 North.
The move came when Cimarron ownership contacted New Distributing about a purchase, Ross said. He declined comment regarding the sale price.
"We're very fortunate that they considered us, as we're a family-owned business similar in operation to the business that they've developed," he said.
It brings the number of Jayen Inc.'s stores to nine, Ross said, noting Cimarron's stores would retain their names, brands and products.
"The Cimarron owners, management and employees have done a wonderful job in developing the brand," he said. "We intend on keeping up with the excellent products that they have developed."
Jeff Coffey, with Cimarron, declined comment Thursday, noting the company planned to release a written statement as the deal progressed.
Ross said the company hopes to retain all current Cimarron employees.
The plan is to incorporate products from Cimarron locations into Fastop stores while also incorporating Fastop programs and products into Cimarron locations.
"We look forward to bringing the best of both worlds together," he said.
