St. Joseph High School Choir member named to Texas Private Schools All-State Choir

The Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association is proud to announce that St. Joseph High School junior class member Sarah Valenzuela has been named to the Texas Private Schools All-State Choir. She finished 28th out of the top 75 from across the state trying out for the All-State Choir.

Sarah Valenzuela sings alto in the St. Joseph High School Honors Choir and is the daughter of Michael and Evelina Valenzuela, of Victoria.

Sarah will now be preparing All-State concert music. She will attend an All-State Music Workshop on Jan. 25 in Houston hosted by Texas Private School Music Educators Association Region 3.

Sarah will then attend the association's All-State Choir Clinic and will have rehearsals from Jan. 31-Feb. 2, culminating in the Texas Private Schools All-State Concert on Feb. 2 in San Marcos at Texas State University.

The choral director for St. Joseph High School is Michael Petrisky.

"Sarah is a brilliant student and a joy to have in class," Petrisky said. "She is a very hard working, well mannered, and caring student."
