To finance the $277,941 Bootfest, the city spent $154,000 of taxpayer money up front, which covered 55 percent of the total cost. After the city's revenue was collected from Bootfest, officials repaid much of those taxpayer dollars. In the final tally, taxpayers ended up paying $65,266, or 23 percent, of the total Bootfest expenses.
