Piano event to help Theatre Victoria

Throw on your jeans and come down Friday to a high-energy, hand-clapping, knee-slapping night of fun with Dueling Pianos at Spring Creek Place.

The event benefits Theatre Victoria.

"To have a community theater in a town this size is a pretty big deal, and, just like any theater, they have overhead and operating costs to take care of. This is their big annual fundraiser," said Theatre Victoria event chairwoman Teri Murray.

The event will feature pub-style live music, a buffet dinner, open bar and live and silent auctions, all benefiting Theatre Victoria. Tickets are $65.

Murray said the act resembles the dueling piano players at places such as Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in Austin and other large cities. They're excited to bring this type of entertainment to Victoria for a good cause, Murray said.

"To bring this kind of entertainment to our community - at an extremely reasonable cost considering what you get - seemed like a win-win," Murray said.
