Marjorie Anne Matthew and Lincoln Murray Edwards, both of Austin, were married at 7 p.m. on August 4, 2012 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston; where they first met. Rev. Dr. Boyd Wagner, of Houston, officiated the double-ring ceremony. The wedding kneeler was needlepointed by the bride's mother.
The bride is the daughter of Winford and Patricia Matthew, of Yoakum. She is the granddaughter of Velma Matthew and the late R.E. Matthew, of Yoakum, and the late Jack and Lula Belle Maddox, of Palacios.
The groom is the son of Murray and Kathi Edwards, of Clyde. He is the grandson of C. Lee and Sue Smith, of Clyde, and the late Weldon and Dorothy Jean Edwards, of Clyde.
Kathleen Fisher attended as matron of honor. Alice Watts attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Catherine Herring, Elizabeth Hatley, and Kendra Hiller. Maddox Fisher attended as flower girl.
John Morris Edwards served as best man. Groomsmen were David Popelka, Chris Hardegree, Josh Noworatzky, and Travis Smtih. Weston Pepper served as ring bearer.
Ushers were Kyle Fisher, Matt Nichols, Chris Pepper, and Nolan Pepper. Matthew Fisher served as acolyte.
A reception was held following the ceremony at The St. Regis Hotel in Houston. The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica, and reside in Austin.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Yoakum High School, a 2007 graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with a Business Foundations Certificate, and a 2011 graduate of Harvard University with a Masters of Liberal Arts Degree in Management. She is employed by Enspire Learning in Austin as Program Manager and Sr. Manager of Human Resources.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Clyde High School, a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, and a 2011 graduate of Harvard Business School with a Masters of Business Administration Degree. He is a Consultant in the Austin area.
