Editor, the Advocate:
My husband is Tony Mallette and is the Republican candidate for Victoria County Commissioner Precinct 1. Some things you should know about him that he has not presented to the voters: Tony has presented a plan to the Metro Planning Commission to extend Zac Lentz Parkway down Burroughsville Road to the Bloomington Highway at the Port of Victoria. The reasons are for better emergency response for fire and law enforcement, safe movement of containers to and from the port to Caterpillar and for another emergency evacuation route from the southern part of the county. He is also participating with Victoria ISD to reduce truancy/dropouts. The trades and vocational training should be expanded. Let the student pick a field of interest, help him develop his self-esteem, and you are off to producing a productive citizen. He's an advocate for scholarships and intern programs for the trades. Partnerships between business, the city, county, state and the school district are essential in moving forward for our youth. He can create partnerships. Tony is a person of vision and needs your support to accomplish great things for our community. Vote for him this November 6th.
