I commend Randy Duke for what he is doing protesting his son's punishment. Max is the true victim here, and Victoria ISD should be ashamed of themselves. "School officials declined to comment?" Of course they did, just as I'm sure the parents of this bully probably declined as well.
Something has to give here. This was going on for three years! That is absurd! We need different policies for dealing with bullying, no doubt, and VISD, shame on you. Way to go Max, even though you are being unjustly punished, you stood up for yourself. To the kid doing the bullying, and his parents, you ought to consider home-schooling as well as therapy. (I hear there are some great boot camps for teens, too!) As a parent of two boys in VISD, I can honestly say it worries me that this was allowed to go on for so long. Kudos Randy and Max, there will be a light at the end of this dark tunnel.
