Victoria almost beat out Los Angeles on a top 10 list - for wearing sweatpants.

Yes, odd as it may seem in toasty South Texas, Victorians apparently love their sweatpants.

The number of sweatpants a person owns and has purchased in the past 12 months was the barometer for comfort in a survey conducted by Experian Marketing Services, which has offices in New York, Chicago and Southern California.

In this year's survey, Victoria ranked ninth on the top 20 list of sweats consumption.

Dillard's area sales manager Mary Grace Perez said she was not surprised by the survey results.

"I think part of that has to deal with the trend started by Victoria Secret's PINK brand," Perez said. "That line does so well, that much of our lingerie section now carries a lounge wear."

Perez said her high school daughter owns about 20 pairs of sweats.

"It's just one of those lines you don't want to waste at home," Perez said. "We're just trendy that's all."

Since Dillard's added more stylish sweats to their junior section, Perez said, sales have gone up.

"You really want to get home and get into something comfy and be able to go out, too," Perez said. "Our DKNY line is stunningly beautiful."
