Early voting continues

As Election Day draws near, early voters continue to cast their ballots.

More than 9,000 voters have come out to vote since early voting polls opened last week. On Monday, 1,157 votes were cast, bringing the number of votes to 9,011, or 17.5 percent of registered voters in Victoria County, according to a news release from George Matthews, Victoria County elections administrator.

The Victoria County Elections Office has received 2,179 of the 2,586 mail-in ballots issued as of Monday.

Early voting in person continues through Friday.

This week, polls will be open as follows:• Main early voting, the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center and the Victoria Mall - Inspiring Scents from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. through Wednesday and 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

• Bloomington ISD Administration Building will be open for early voting in person from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday.

•  Bloomington Fire Station will be open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Early Voting by mail applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
