Cuero man sentenced to 9 years in federal prison for child pornography distribution

Sept. 5, 2012 at 4:05 a.m.

A Cuero man was sentenced to nine years in federal prison Wednesday for distributing child pornography.

Archie Terry Howard, 34, was also sentenced to five years probation during which time he'll participate in sex offender treatment and have limited access to children, according to the ruling by U.S. District Judge John D. Rainey.

Howard pled guilty April 2.

A concerned citizen called the Cuero Police Department on June 5, 2011 after they found Howard, their house guest, viewing child pornography on his cell phone. A forensic analysis led to the discovery of more than 2,000 images and videos of child pornography. It also revealed Howard had distributed child pornography to others on multiple occasions.

Howard has been in custody since Sept. 14, where he'll remain pending transfer to a federal prison.

Homeland Security Investigations, the Corpus Christi Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Cuero Police Department investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lance Duke.
