Aug. 31 is the day the Lord took a good man to his Kingdom in Heaven. Paul Powell, you will be missed here on earth, but never forgotten.
You made me believe our daughter, Brandy Lee, is in a better place and now you are in that better place with your first wife and other family members. Your son, Paul, Phillip and daughter Rebecca and wife Helen meant everything to you here on earth and will miss you dearly.
No one will ever find a better more decent Southern gentleman than Paul. I am so happy and proud to call you my best friend. Thanks for all the laughs at the dock. Your smile made my night a brighter place.
You always said "working is living to you" and you proved it by the many jobs you held. You inspired me to keep working, but you worried about me driving. Likewise, I worried about you. Little did we know that the other morning would be our last for you to sit on your red chair and I on the blue chair you bought me. Your smile was infectious as well as your laugh. Your family was blessed to have you as well as your many friends.
There will be an empty chair at the dock now, but I will remember you always. I will see you again in that better place. Your friend and co-worker,
Nancy Kaye Bentley, Hallettsville
