Sept. 11 should be a day of unity for America

Editor, the Advocate:
Sept. 11 is a day that must be kept in our hearts and history and pass on to our children and grandchildren.
Remember Dec. 7, 1941. Remember Nov. 22, 1963. Remember Sept. 11, 2001.
On these days, our nation was brought TOGETHER in grief and rage. But we were brought TOGETHER and stood tall as Americans united in cause and spirit.
We must remember that, under this flag of stars and stripes, we are one nation, under God. One nation born of hope and forged in the fires of history that have tempered our common strength.
On Sept. 11, we should take a moment to turn away from the finger pointing and the "Us" and "Them" mentality and stand tall as "We." Always remember the words "We the People" is who we are, without regard to political party, race, religion or country of origin.
God bless the United States of America and God bless those that are now serving and have served to protect "We the People."
