Nicole Elizabeth Henke and Casey Jay Laird, both of Kyle, were married at 4 p.m. on July 21, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Msgr. James Henke, of Hallettsville, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Ana Henke, of Hallettsville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rosario M. Loredo, of San Antonio, the late Dr. Miguel I. Loredo, and the late John Henke, Sr. and Lucy Henke.
The groom is the son of R.J. and Diane Laird, of Ballinger. He is the grandson of Mrs. Zeva Laird, of Dublin, the late L.J. Laird, and the late Edell and Genevie Whitefield.
Michelle Henke, of San Marcos, sister of the bride, and Kristen Henke, of Hallettsville, sister of the bride, attended as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Aufmuth, of El Paso, Mariana Garza, of Houston, Kathleen Gould, of Chicago, Ill., Angie Wren, of Kyle, all friends of the bride, and Christina Loredo, of Houston, cousin of the bride. Adalyn Pohl, of Hallettsville, cousin of the bride attended as flower girl.
Chris Fuentes, of Abilene, friend of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Justin Laird, of Ballinger, brother of the groom, Anthony De La Garza, of Abilene, Brandon Fulton, of Ballinger, Nathan Lange, of Martindale, Eddie Olivas, of Brownwood, and Michael Wren, of Kyle, all friends of the groom. Jackson Matula, of Houston, cousin of the bride attended as ring bearer.
Ushers were Jesse Aguirre, of Austin, Josh Holguin, of Austin, Brandon Sigle, of Dayton, friends of the groom, and Lucas Loredo, of Austin, cousin of the bride.
Acolytes were Michael Pesek and Justin Pesek, both of Shiner, cousins of the bride.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville. The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia, and reside in Kyle.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Flower Mound High School and in 2007 received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in Catholic Studies from St. Edwards University in Austin. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman's University in Houston on May 13, 2012. She works as a physical therapist at The Heights Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Facility in Gonzales.
The groom graduated from Ballinger High School in 2002 and received a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2006. He currently works at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin as a medical laboratory technologist.
