Residents are being asked to stay vigilant after a sexual assault at Bay City Memorial Stadium.
The apparent assault happened early in the morning last Wednesday and police are still searching for the alleged assaulter, according to a news release.
The Bay City Independent School District Police Department and the Bay City Police Department only know that the suspect is a white male.
The victim was an adult female and though the assault happened on school grounds, she was not enrolled at the school or part of the district.
"We are concerned for all of our citizens, and we are encouraging citizens that frequent the area of the stadium/track to avoid walking alone during nighttime hours, to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police," Superintendent Keith Brown said in an email.
As far as Brown is concerned, a case like this has never happened on school grounds since his time as superintendent.
The investigation continues and so far, no arrests have been made, said the district's police chief Lee Cunningham.
