60th Anniversary Bobbie ( Bob)

Bobbie ( Bob) Lee Allen and Carol Elizabeth Rickard were married on September 21, 1952 in the First Methodist Church in Valley Center, Kansas.
Carol and Bob celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during the week of June 18th to 25th, 2012, on Ambergris Caye, Belize, at the Twin Dolphin Resort, owned by their daughter, Bobbie, and her husband, David Brown, of Crockett, California. Celebrating with Bob and Carol, their daughter Jackie Condra and her husband, Wayne, of El Campo, Texas, grandson Wes Condra and granddaughter Lauren Condra, both of San Marcos, Texas, also Bobbie and David Brown. Their daughter, LaiLoni Ketterman and her husband, Kent, live in Eagle River, Alaska. Lai Loni came to Victoria County to take care of her parent's home and the "petting zoo" ( two goats, five dogs and one cat) during the week in June.
Carol and Bob have two other grandsons, Brandon Caldwell and his wife, Mary Leigh, and daughters Marilyn and Stella of San Marcos, Texas, and Derrick Caldwell and his wife, Leah, of Amarillo, Texas. They have two other granddaughters, Darby Zahradnic and her husband, Mark, of Grapevine, Texas, and Leslie Berhanu and her husband, Samy, and their daughter, Abby, of Pearland, Texas.
Bob is a retired United States Navy Chief Photographer, having served twenty years. Bob and Carol have lived in six states, and two tours of duty U. S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and one tour of duty in Puerto Rico. Bob was attached to the Atlantic Fleet Combat Camera Group, to be ready in a one hour notice to go anywhere in the Atlantic area and the Caribbean. Bob retired from the Navy in April, 1972 at the Naval Air Station, Kingsville, Texas. He then worked as the assistant NJROTC instructor at Henrietta M. King High School in Kingsville for one year. He accepted the job of staff photographer at Texas A & I University in Kingsville. He held that position for eight years. Go Javelinas! Bob and Carol had a business from their home, "Bob and Carol Allen Photography", specializing in school events, weddings, etc. Carol was the business manager.
Bob and Carol moved back to Kansas in June, 1982, to take care of aging parents. Bob worked for his brother-in-law, Kenneth Gifford Construction, building basements and foundations. He also worked at the First United Methodist Church in Valley Center, Kansas.
Carol attended Wichita State University and she was a Kansas certified Emergency Medical Tech.
Bob and Carol moved back to Texas, Victoria County, in June, 1995. Bob is the photographer for The Victoria College family history archives Victoria County.
The captain said "steady as you go" and her mate answered "aye aye".
