Katie Laverne Fowler, of Inez, and John Paul Taylor Bryant, of Austin, were married at 4 p.m. on August 18, 2012 at the Historic Texana Church in Edna. Rev. Jack Bourland, of Victoria, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of H.E. and Janie Fowler, of Inez. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Laverne Hamilton, of Victoria, and Evelyn Fowler and the late Harold E. Fowler Sr., of Ganado.
The groom is the son of Trina and Kevin Ward, of Taylor, and Paul Bryant, of Austin. He is the grandson of Doyle Reeves and the late Bobbie Reeves, of Farmers Branch, and the late Henry Paul Bryant Sr. and Evelyn Bryant, of St. Louis, Mo.
Jessica Fowler, of Denton, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Asia Fowler, of Austin, Jillian Gerdes, of Ft. Worth, and Tiffany Svblett, of Ganado. Jocelynn Fowler Reid, of Corpus Christi, attended as flower girl.
Tyler Bryant, of Austin, served as best man. Groomsmen were Drew Alfred, of Austin, Matt Kierdorf, of Austin, and Ryan Zimmerman, of San Marcos.
Jarod Fowler, of Austin, and Christian Fowler, of Inez, served as ushers.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Harry Hafernick Center in Edna. The couple honeymooned on Paradise Island, Bahamas, and reside in San Marcos.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Industrial High School and a May 2013 candidate for graduation from Texas State University with a Bachelors degree in Respiratory Care.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Westwood High School and a 2011 graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelors degree in Communications. He is employed by Quail Creek Country Club as an Assistant Golf Pro.
