Invista recently named Paul Hughes as new site manager for the company's Victoria chemical intermediates manufacturing facility.
He replaces Steve Harvill, who served as site manager since 2010 and was appointed director of Victoria strategic projects, according to an Invista news release
Hughes joined Invista in 2011 as Victoria site production manager with more than 20 years of experience leading manufacturing processes in the refining and chemical industries. As production manager he was responsible for manufacturing operations and maintenance organization.
He said he was delighted for the chance to lead the Victoria site.
"I am energized about the site's future and am looking forward to utilizing our market-based management philosophies to create long term value for both Invista and the Victoria community, while continuing to honor our commitments to safety and the environment," he said.
In his new role, Harvill will use his more than 30 years of industry experience to lead the identification, development and execution of large-scale capital investments and projects critical to keeping the Victoria site competitive.
Victoria's site is the cornerstone of Invista's long-term success, said Kevin Robles, the company's vice president of intermediates operations. The next five years offer an opportunity for sustained operations and growth opportunities.
"For that reason, we are extremely pleased that we have two individuals with the caliber of experience and industry knowledge as both Paul and Steve to serve the Victoria site and to drive the Victoria site's global competitive position, focused on safety, compliance and environmental excellence," he said.
Both Hughes and Harvill will remain at the Victoria site.
