Restoration House Ministries is looking for community sponsors to help furnish its recently completed addition, which will double the ministry's residential capacity.
"The new wing of the house will allow us to house up to eight women, but first we have to have the furniture for them to sit on, eat on and sleep on," said Theresa Klacman, founder and director of Restoration House Ministries. "So we're asking community organizations to sponsor a specific room, and we'll honor that donation forever by putting the sponsor's name on a plaque by the room's door."
Room prices range from $1,200 to $4,500, Klacman said. Thus far, the Victoria Rotary Club and the Junior League have contributed grants for the furnishing project.
"Chesnick Furniture worked with us to design the rooms and get special pricing, for which we are most grateful," she said.
Those interested in donating may contact Chesnick Furniture at 361-578-3546 or contact Restoration House Ministries directly at 361-676-3588.
"Because we don't charge our residents nor receive any government support, we depend upon the generosity of those in our community," Klacman said. "And the community has been most generous to support the work we do."
The new addition was built entirely on donations from area businesses and churches.
