DACOSTA -- Three people were transported after a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 and Farm-to-Market Road 1686 at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
One woman was airlifted to an unknown hospital with critical injuries and two men were transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center, said Trooper Jesse Ray Chavana of the Department of Public Safety.
Joe Taylor was driving a Dodge pickup hauling a trailer west on the farm road and struck a Chevrolet passenger car traveling south on U.S. Highway 87, the trooper said.
Chavana said the preliminary investigation indicates Taylor failed to yield the right of way when he crossed the highway, striking the Chevrolet on the driver-side door.
A woman who was in the Chevrolet was transported by Citizens AirMedical to an area hospital and Taylor and his passenger, Jose Laredo, 24, were also transported to citizens Medical Center.
U.S Highway 87 South and FM 1686 were closed for about an hour, but re-opened by 3 p.m.
