A national sales manager for John Deere wanted to emphasize the company's commitment to the Crossroads community Friday.
Speaking at the Shoppa's Farm Supply store in Victoria, the sales manager, Greg Hart, who oversees the western region of the agriculture and turf division of the company John Deere, wanted to meet with area farmers to thank them for continuing to work with John Deere products. Shoppa's Farm Supply provides John Deere equipment for farming and agricultural uses such as harvesting.
"We've been fortunate to have customers in this area for a lot of years," Hart said. "It's critical for Deere's success."
This year, Shoppa's Farm Supply consolidated its stores in Edna and Victoria. Chris Shoppa, owner of the business, said Hart's appearance indicates how the John Deere company cares about its customers.
The new store offers equipment such as large combines, cotton pickers, row-crop tractors and hay equipment, making the new store the one-stop shop for farm equipment, Shoppa said.
"They're our strategic partner," said Shoppa.
Chris Hajovsky said he discussed using fuel efficiency products with Hart. A farmer in Jackson County, Hajovsky, 33, said he enjoys using John Deere products and is interested in knowing what new equipment the company is producing.
"It's good from an education experience to see what products will come out in the future," Hajovsky said.
Jamie Bures, another farmer, said he hardly has any problems with his John Deere products. He wanted to thank Hart for supporting the Crossroads' agriculture community.
"We're all on the same team," said Bures, 34, who works in Ganado and uses tractors and combines. "The agricultural section is a big team. If we're doing good, they're doing good."
