Photography, organic gourmet coffee and handmade soaps have one thing in common: the 5th annual Devereux Gardens Spring Fling scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

The event includes Art in the Garden featuring more than 30 artisan booths with merchandise created by the vendors.

The items also include fashion, garden art, wood works, furniture, jewelry, all natural jellies and more.

"It is a wonderful day to come to the Devereux Gardens Growing Center and browse through the greenhouses at gorgeous tropicals, perennials and annual color," said Lon Smith, Devereux business development director.

"These vendors are passionate about their creations and love telling customers about how they do what they do. It is truly a one-of-a-kind event for our area, and it continues to get bigger every year."

One unique aspect of Art in the Garden is the set up, Smith said.

"There are no straight lines like you see in most street fair type events," said Smith. "The artists are set up under a huge grove of gorgeous live oaks, and the booths are on a meandering path that the vendors and customers love."

Art in the Garden will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Sunday is "Family Day" with free food and fun for the kids, including face painting, art projects, jumps, ponies and more.

The event is free to the public and benefits the Devereux Adult Vocational Program.
