Editor, the Advocate:

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the city of Victoria for hosting the Victoria Independent Film Festival. As a visual artist, I have participated in international exhibitions from London to Lisbon to New Orleans, and I can honestly say that my week in Victoria was tantamount to all of my experiences in these larger cities. With the hard work of Anthony Pedone and all who volunteered to make the festival such a success, I feel that Victoria is on its way to becoming a cultural capital of Southeastern Texas. I would encourage everyone to continue to support the festival and to continue to support the creative community of the city. I will do my part to tell everyone who will listen what a special place Victoria is. The night of the "Round Ball" screening was magical for me as an outsider. To witness an entire community support a film was something I will not forget.

With warm wishes for all of my newfound friends,

Ted Riederer, Long Island City, New York
