HOOVER, Ala. - Victoria native Sarah Beth Davis was the only golfer for Texas A&M to shoot under 80 all three rounds of last weekend's Southeastern Conference women's golf championship, finishing 23rd in the individual standings.

Davis shot rounds of 78, 79 and 75 during the three-day event at the Founders Course at Greystone Golf & Country Club.

"Sarah really hung in there throughout the championship," said A&M coach Trelle McCombs in a news release. "I am proud of how Sarah played this week and to get a top-25 finish in this field is quite an accomplishment. She should be proud of the fight she showed in these adverse conditions."

No. 2 Alabama (304-293-302) claimed the SEC Championship by 14 strokes on Sunday. Texas A&M entered the tournament No. 23 in the country. The Aggies shot team rounds of 318, 309 and 307, finishing one stroke behind 10th place Auburn. The field featured 14 teams.
