Faith Academy boys basketball coach Matt McLeod was named the Don Coleman Outstanding Coach of the Year for small private schools by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

It is the second time McLeod has received the award. He previously won the award following the 2007-08 season.

McLeod led the Cougars to a 24-win season after starting the season 1-4 and unranked in the TABC Small School Top 25. Faith finished No. 16 overall and won 23 of its final 30 games.

In four years as head coach at Faith Academy, McLeod has amassed 104 wins, four playoff berths, two regional finals appearances, three district championships, nine TAPPS All-State selections, and 30 All-District picks, including three district MVP's.
