Utility payment assistance program offered in Bloomington

The Community Action Committee of Victoria is hosting an outreach program in Bloomington on Thursday.
The program is designed to assist families with their electric or propane bills in the Bloomington and Placedo areas.
Community Action Committee staff members will be at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 220 Indiana St., in Bloomington from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To be considered for assistance, 2013 proof of income for the 30 days before the appointment date (April 3-May 3) for all household members must be provided.
This includes all check stubs, award letters from Social Security and the Veterans Administration, food stamps and child support.
Identification for the person applying must also be presented as well as Social Security cards or numbers for each household member.
Applicants must also bring one year of printouts of monthly electric, gas or propane bills.
