PORTLAND - Travis Geiser pitched a one-hitter to lead Gregory-Portland to a 3-0 District 30-4A win over Victoria West on Friday night.

The loss ended the season for West (11-15-1, 4-8), which needed a win and a Tuloso-Midway loss to qualify for the playoffs.

The Warriors had only two baserunners.

Jonathan Jimenez led off the sixth inning with a walk and was picked off. Koby Bynum started the seventh with a single.

Bynum was the losing pitcher. He yielded five hits and had eight strikeouts.

Geiser also hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning for the Wildcats (8-4), who will advance to the playoffs as the third seed.
