Nikole Rhoades, 20, of Cuero, died Monday morning in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 183 in DeWitt County.
About 3:30 a.m., Rhoades' 2008 Pontiac Grand Am, which was headed south on the highway about 2 miles north of Farm-to-Market Road 237, crossed the center line, ran off the road and struck a tree, said Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Trooper Gerald Bryant.
Rhoades was pronounced dead at the scene by DeWitt County Justice of the Peace Bill Robinson. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Bryant said.
The wreck is under investigation by DPS Trooper James Vinson.
