Moehrig named AII player of the year

UHV third baseman Marley Moehrig was named the Association of Independent Institutions player of the year Tuesday night.

The Victoria native has broken several single-season records at UHV this season, including home runs (14), RBI (74), triples (7), total bases (135) and slugging percentage (.951). She currently has a .472 batting average with 45 runs scored in 45 games.

UHV's Brittany Arredondo was named to the AII first team and Alex Holland was selected as the designated player.

Ashley Shannon and Ashley Winegeart were both named to the AII second team infield.
