You must turn on your turn signal before you make your turn.
So many times while driving down the street, I come in contact with people who believe they are obeying the law by turning on their turn signal at the very moment they turn or change lanes.
This is not only dangerous but also against the law.
According to the Texas Transportation Code, you shall activate the turn signal at least 100 feet before making a turn or changing lanes.
This allows other motorists time to react to your movement.
The Victoria Police Department Traffic Safety Unit invites you to inform us of any traffic issues that you observe. The easiest way to do this is go to our website, victoriapd.com, then go to the VPD Customer Service Request tab in the center of the page and follow the directions.
