About 1,600 Victoria electric customers lost power for about an hour Saturday afternoon when a couple of trees fell on a power line, said Elgin Janssen, American Electric Power spokesman.

About 1:25 p.m., strong high winds caused a few trees to topple onto power lines, which cut off electricity in and around the Tanglewood subdivision and along Sam Houston Drive.

Janssen said utility workers had the power restored to residential and commercial customers by 2:15 p.m.
