2013 Dow Promise grant cycle applications available

The grant application cycle for the Dow Chemical Foundation Dow Promise grant is open.

The grant provides funding that positively impacts African-American communities near Dow locations, where economic and educational challenges may be barriers to success, according to a news release from Dow.

Applicants may request up to $25,000, and itemized budgets are required to detail how the funds will be used.

Projects must provide a positive community impact in in least one of the following areas: science in society, contributing to community success and/or sustainability.

The Seadrift Operations African-American Network will hold a Lunch & Learn session that will discuss the Dow Promise grant opportunity.

The luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 4 at the Seadrift Operations Clubhouse, 7501 state Highway 185 N.
