Thumbs-up to City Plumbing Supply Inc., which has been in business in Victoria for 50 years this August.
Thumbs-up to the blessing of rain.
Thumbs-up to everyone involved in the production of Dancing With The Stars Victoria Style. It took one entire summer to prepare for one evening's entertainment. Funding The Billy T Cattan Recovery Center was what it was all about, so bravo to each person - too many to name - for their time and dedication. The community is a better place because of you!
Thumbs-down to the senseless, cruel murder of the World War II veteran and to the untrue, divisive cartoon on the editorial page of the Victoria Advocate on Aug. 25.
FROM THE EDITORIAL BOARD

Thumbs-up to Kuykendall Custom Pools for creating what is reportedly the world's largest residential pool for the Mobley family in El Campo. This resort-style pool is amazing and impressive.
Thumbs-up to all the readers who sent in their summer vacation photos for us to enjoy.
Thumbs-down to Calhoun County for continuing to refuse to fulfill the Victoria Advocate's Freedom of Information Act request for details of a settlement agreement in a case between the county, a county commissioner and a former employee.
