Elane Stanfill can’t get enough of her nephew, Jacob Barraza.

The 9-year-old DeLeon Elementary School student is the subject of this month’s winning outdoor photo contest.

Stanfill said her nephew is used to getting his picture taken.

“He’s so used to my camera,” she said. “I love to take photos of him.”

The photo was taken at his grandfather’s property in Sarco, outside Goliad.

Jacob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Devin Walker, of Victoria, and Ruben Barraza, of Houston.

Overall, the only way to describe the many photos the Advocate received for its outdoor photo contest is with one word - beautiful.

Azure skies, golden sunrises and sunsets and sandy coasts across the world are soothing and beautiful by nature.

The photos were taken not only in the Crossroads but at locations across the country.

The photos capture your eye, from their composition to the colors splashed throughout the images.

Our next contest is possibly as popular as the outdoor contest.
