If opera and ballet are your cup of tea, then Cinemark 12 in Victoria has a few shows this week that are just right for you.

"The Nutcracker," performed by The Royal Opera House Ballet Series, will hit the silver screen Tuesday for one show. Instead of seeing the dancers leap and tiptoe across the stage in person, the screening, offered at more than 1,900 theaters across the country, will showcase the recorded talents of all the Royal Opera House dancers along with Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky's original score.

The Metropolitan Opera's presentation of "Falstaff" will take the screen Wednesday for one day. The performance includes work from music director James Levine as he conducts Verdi's opera for the first time at the Met since 2005.

The two productions are limited shows offered by Cinemark 12. For more information, call the theater at 361-485-1569 or visit Cinemark.com.
