A 25-year-old Victoria man was rushed to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after being stuck by a car in the 3100 block of Sam Houston Drive.

Nathan Novosad was crossing the street about 2:30 p.m. when a driver in a silver Ford Fusion struck him, said Sgt. Herschel Buck with the Victoria Police Department. Novosad will be shown responsible for the accident for failing to yield the right of way to a vehicle, Buck said.

Novosad was initially transported to Citizens Medical Center with serious injuries but was later moved to University Hospital in San Antonio, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The driver, Gordon Lewis, 60, of Rockport, was not injured.
